Automatically import card transactions
To optimize your business, have your card transactions automatically imported directly into Continia Expense Management. It helps you keep track of all employee expenses and company cards, and is by far the easiest way to enter your transactions into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Your options for importing credit card transactions into Expense Management depend on which cards your organization uses. Continia supports all major card types, including Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Eurocard, to mention a few.
For more information about the various options, and find out what must be done to set everything in motion, see the article for the type of card your company uses:
Continia supports thousands of scenarios and a multitude of banks worldwide. Ask your bank to get in touch with your Continia partner. If your bank is on board and technically capable of sending transactions to Expense Management, your partner will take it from there.
Note
If you're unsure if your bank can export transactions to Expense Management, contact your bank and ask them to reach out to your Continia partner. Your Continia partner will then work with Continia to find the best possible solution for your organization.
Set up automatic import of card transactions
To have card transactions imported automatically into Expense Management:
Contact your bank to set up an agreement for them to send your company's card transactions to Expense Management.
Note
An agreement with the bank must be in place before you request activation in Business Central. You cannot request a bank agreement from within Business Central.
Each type of card has its own specific procedures. Inform your bank that they can find the relevant guidelines and information for the different card types in the following articles:
Wait for confirmation from your bank that the agreement has been activated and the bank has started sending card transactions to Continia. After you've received confirmation, you can request activation in Business Central.
Activate an agreement in Expense Management
Search () for and select Bank Agreements (Continia Expense Management).
On the action bar, click Activate Bank Agreement.
In the Bank Agreement Activation wizard, click Next.
Fill in the relevant fields then click Next.
Note
Ensure your transaction is included in the data sent by your bank to Continia: select a transaction that occurred 1-2 days after your bank confirmed the agreement was activated started delivering transaction data to Continia. To avoid using fees and other generic transactions, ensure the text and amount are unique. If you don't know the last six digits of the card number, the last four digits is usually sufficient.
Click Finish.
You've now requested activation of the agreement in Business Central, and your request is sent to Continia for processing. The status of the request is set to Pending.
View the request status and deal with issues
To view the status of your activation request:
- Search () for and select Bank Agreements (Continia Expense Management).
- On the action bar, click Activation Request Log to open the Agreement Activation Log page.
- In the list, check the Request Status column to see the status of the request you submitted.
When an activation request is approved, its status changes. Synchronize with Continia Online before checking the status of your activation request because it only updates after you've synchronized with Continia Online.
- On the action bar, click Synchronize with Continia Online.
It can take up to 48 hours to process you activation request. If the request status changes to Rejected, work through the steps in the first section of this article again to see if you've missed anything.
Note
The most common reason for a rejected activation request is that the submitted transaction occurred before the date the bank started sending transactions to Expense Management. Another common reason is not having received confirmation from the bank that they've activated the agreement.
If you're still having trouble, submit a support ticket. Your support ticket must include the following information, as we're unable to assist you without these details:
- Client ID
- Company GUID
- Bank name
- Bank agreement number (supplied by your bank)
Tip
Many banks use different terms, such as file delivery ID, company ID, or recipient ID. For information on how to find client credentials and company GUID, see How to find Client Credentials and Company GUID (only available to Continia partners).
