Introducing merge rules
Merge rules combine several bank account entries into a single entry. A typical use case is consolidating multiple credit card transfers into one daily total. You can set up merge rules as common rules that apply to all bank accounts, or as rules that apply to specific bank accounts only.
Hinweis
You can enable merge rules from the Continia Feature Management page.
To control the automatic merging of lines using merge rules linked to search rules, you can enable or disable merge rules on the Banking Import Setup page.
Available actions and pages
On the Bank Account Reconciliation and Payment Reconciliation Journal pages, the following actions are available:
- Apply Merge Rule - applies a specific merge rule to lines.
- Merge Rules - opens the list of merge rules.
- Merge Lines - merges lines manually.
A link to the Merge Rule is also available in the Match Details FactBox in the Payment Reconciliation Journal and on the Payment Application Review page.
Notifications help you by alerting you to conflicts between split and merge rules, informing you when assigned merge rules are disabled, and guiding you through completing the merge rule setup.
The options for merging lines
You can merge lines in the following ways:
- Merge lines manually, with or without using a rule. See Applying merge rules manually.
- Add a merge rule to a search rule, so that lines are merged automatically. See Setting up merge rules and Applying merge rules automatically.
- Select a merge rule for a specific line. See Applying merge rules manually.
- Undo the merge and split the lines to their original state. See Restoring merged lines.
