Disabling the IBAN lookup
You may want to disable the IBAN lookup if your organization already maintains bank-account information through an external system. In that case, running additional bank-information lookups may be unnecessary. It could also result in extra cost and duplicate processes that are already handled elsewhere.
Disabling the IBAN lookup affects the creation and maintenance of bank accounts. When users create or update bank-account records, bank details are no longer automatically validated or enriched through the external lookup service.
To disable the IBAN lookup
- Search () for and select External Service Policy.
- Locate the IBAN Lookup service in the policy matrix.
- Find the scenarios where you want to prevent the lookup from running, such as:
- Vendor Bank Account
- Customer Bank Account
- Own Bank Account
- Assisted Setup
- Multi Bank Setup
- For each relevant scenario, set Enabled to No.
- Save your changes.
After you disable the service, the IBAN lookup no longer runs for the selected scenarios. As a result, when users create or update bank accounts, the system does not automatically retrieve, validate, or complete bank information through the external lookup service. If bank details are managed through another system, you must ensure that the required information is entered and maintained from that source instead.
You can re-enable the service at any time, or use Reset to Default to restore the recommended settings.
