Role Center cues for eDocuments and failed documents
In the Role Center, the Continia Document Output queues have their own dedicated Document Output section, to avoid having them displayed as duplicates in the two other Document Output sections (which relate to sales documents and purchase documents respectively). Likewise, Continia eDocuments has its own dedicated eDocuments section focused on outgoing network documents and documents requiring attention.
The Document Output queue section
For each of the queues in the dedicated Document Output queue section, a cue indicates if any – and how many – documents have failed. If one or more documents have failed, the cue will turn red to indicate that it requires your attention.
The following table provides an overview of the failed-document cues and what cue groups they're in:
| Cue group | Cue | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Document Queue | Failed Document Cue | Shows the number of documents that have errors returned by underlying or downstream systems. |
| Print Queue | Failed Print Queue | Shows the number of documents that have errors returned by printers or print servers. |
| File Download Queue | Failed File Download Queue | Shows the number of documents that have errors returned by storage and file systems. |
To fix any issue indicated by a failed-document cue, click the relevant cue to open it's corresponding page, and then check for error messages and take the necessary steps to resolve the issue.
The eDocuments section
The eDocuments section contains two cues dealing with outgoing documents and one for documents requiring attention. The latter corresponds to the failed-document cues from the Document Output queue section explained above, but it also covers other scenarios that somehow require your attention, as described below.
The following table provides an overview of the cues and what cue groups they're in:
| Cue group | Cue | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Documents | Requiring Attention | Lists all documents that somehow need manual follow-up:
|
| Outgoing Documents | In Process | Shows all outgoing network documents that have the status In process. |
| Outgoing Documents | Sent Last Week | Lists all outgoing network documents that have been sent during the past week. |
Clicking the Requiring Attention cue opens the eDocuments Requiring Attention page, which displays the list of documents needing follow-up action. The page offers the following options for dealing with such documents:
- Open Source Document – opens the posted business document.
- Open eDocument – opens the related eDocument.
- eDocument Overview – lists all eDocuments that are related to the source document.
- Validation Log – lists any validation errors associated with the document.
- Mark as Resolved – enables you to remove the document from the attention list, for example once you've communicated with the customer and agreed on a solution.
To resolve any issue indicated by the Requiring Attention cue, reach out to the recipient of the document to determine what the issue is and how to move forward – for example, if a credit note should be issued and a new invoice sent. You can then go to eDocuments Requiring Attention and click Mark as Resolved, depending on the underlying cause:
- For documents that have failed schematron validation during sending or failed transmission on the network, the system automatically removes each document from the attention list once the document issue has been resolved and the document has been sent.
- For orphaned documents and documents that have been rejected by the recipient, you must manually click Mark as Resolved.
