Installation of root certificate for Danske Bank

Important

This guide only applies if you want to use direct communication for data exchange with Danske Bank, and use a version of Payment Management earlier than version 4.00. If you use version 4.00 or later, installing the root certificate for Danske Bank in no longer required.

Guide for versions earlier than 4.00

In order to use direct communication to Danske Bank, and provided you install a version before version 4.00 as described above, a root certificate from Danske Bank must be installed. The root certificate consists of a file issued by Danske Bank and are included in the product package.

Note

It is a prerequisite for the installation that you have downloaded the latest product package from Continia PartnerZone. Unpack the product package to a location of your choice and remember to check that the files are not blocked by Windows.

Requirements for ServiceTier installation

The use of Danske Bank's root certificate for your Dynamics NAV or Business Central on-premises requires that a root certificate are installed on the server that runs the ServiceTier service.

When you for example must set up and create user certificates for Danske Bank (see Create bank certificates under section Setup and configuration in the User Guide) Dynamics NAV or Business Central on-premises must be able to read and verify this root certificate, from the server's Certificate Store.

In order for the root certificate to be accessed by your ServiceTier service, the certificate must be installed on this ServiceTier server under the same user under which the ServiceTier service is run. To install the certificate you must be able to log in to the server with the same user under which the ServiceTier service is run.

Important

Since you cannot log in to the server with e.g. the "Network Service" or "Local System" users, you must make sure that a specific user has been created on the server under which the ServiceTier service is run. During the installation of the certificate, you will be prompted to log in to the server with this user.

Install root certificates

The following procedure is used on the server where ServiceTier service is running:

  1. Log in to the server with the user running the ServiceTier service.
  2. Copy the files from the product package to the server to a location of your choice.
  3. Execute Setup.exe, located at the root of the product package.
  4. Find the section Dynamics NAV Server and click on Danske Bank Root Certificate.
  5. The program will tell you that you must ensure that the user you are logged in with is the same user that the ServiceTier service runs under. You do not have to do anything else.
  6. In the field Select Dynamics NAV Service Tier select the specific service on which the components are to be installed.
  7. Click Install.
  8. A "Security Warning" is displayed. Confirm that you want to install the certificate by clicking Yes.
  9. A dialog box will then appear confirming that the installation of the certificate has been completed. Select OK to close the window.
  10. Back on the installer, click Close to close the application.
  11. You may now remove the files from the product package and log off the server.
  12. The installation is complete.
