eInvoicing in France
As of September 1, 2026, eInvoicing becomes mandatory for all businesses subject to French VAT. This article introduces the French eInvoicing reform and outlines what it means for businesses using Continia solutions.

What's changing
France is implementing a mandatory eInvoicing reform that changes how invoices are exchanged between VAT-registered businesses. From September 1, 2026, every business subject to French VAT must be able to receive electronic invoices.
All eInvoices must be exchanged through a state-certified platform – a plateforme agréée (PA). Invoices can't be sent directly between businesses but must instead pass through one of these certified platforms.
In addition to eInvoicing for B2B transactions, businesses may also be subject to eReporting requirements: the obligation to report certain transaction data to the French tax authority (DGFiP) for transactions outside the scope of B2B eInvoicing, such as B2C sales and international transactions.

Live beta versions
Beta versions of Continia Document Capture and Continia Document Output with French eInvoicing support are available now, allowing you to validate your entire document flow in a test environment before go-live. Continia integrates with two approved platforms – Digital Technologies Srl (initial integration) and B2BRouter (a projected future addition) – to connect businesses to the French eInvoicing network.
Note
You can already register users for the French network in the test environment – which is recommended – but you can't use it to process actual documents. Registered users will be onboarded to the network on go-live.
Getting started
To connect to the French eInvoicing network, you must have a participation. A participation is an organization's or legal entity's registration in the Continia Delivery Network that enables that organization or legal entity to send and receive documents using the Continia Delivery Network.
Obtaining a participation and connecting to the French network is a three-step process:
- Submit the onboarding request by completing a form for each customer, ensuring all legal information is accurate.
- Wait for Continia to activate the participation based on the information you provided in the submitted form.
- Complete the setup and test the document flow end to end once your participation has been enabled.
