Migrating OPplus data to Continia Banking

Use the Continia Banking/Finance data migration tool to transfer data from OPplus to Continia Banking and Continia Finance in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Important

Content in this article is maintained continuously and some steps may require additional attention depending on your setup. Review all instructions carefully before starting the migration process.

The migration tool provides a guided and structured approach to moving financial data. When migration is complete:

  • OPplus is automatically deactivated.
  • Continia Banking and Continia Finance are activated as needed.

Prerequisites

Before you start migration, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • Business Central version - version 26 (on-premises) or later.
  • OPplus version - version 26.0.0 or higher, installed and activated. If OPplus is in use at the customer, it will already be activated.
  • Continia Banking - the app must be installed but not activated. Activation is carried out automatically by the migration tools after the migration is completed.
  • Payments processed - all incoming and outgoing payments in OPplus must be fully processed. No bank statements may remain partially posted, and all payment export files must be generated and posted. After installing the migration apps, no further postings can be made.
  • Permissions - confirm you have administrative access and permissions to install apps (recommended: Super user access). Verify whether customer‑specific or industry‑specific extensions require additional permissions, such as solutions that log changes to master data or setup tables. Ensure the migration user has the required access so that no permission issues occur. After migration make sure to assign the Continia Banking permission sets to users.

Additionally, go to Microsoft Marketplace and install the Continia Banking Migration OPplus app in your environment before migration.

Important information for Continia Finance users: Two migration apps are available: one for OPplus to Finance and one for OPplus to Banking. If you also use Continia Finance, or if Finance must be migrated first, install only the Finance migration app and complete that migration before installing the Banking migration app. For Banking-only migrations, install the OPplus to Banking migration app directly. In all cases, the apps must be installed but not activated, as the migration tools activate them automatically after the migration.

Run the migration tool to migrate to Continia Finance

If you want to work with both Continia Finance and Continia Banking, start by migrating from OPplus to Continia Finance.

To start the migration tool:

  1. Search (Search) for and select Continia Finance Migration OPplus.
  2. The wizard will guide you through the steps. The first page lists all OPplus modules that can be migrated. For each module, the first toggle switch indicates whether the OPplus module should be migrated, and the second (which cannot be changed) shows whether the module has already been migrated. You can enable and disable modules to your liking.
  3. Navigate to the Final Steps section to determine whether OPplus can be disabled after the migration. By default, OPplus will be deactivated immediately after the Continia Finance migration but if you also plan to migrate Continia Banking, clear the option.
  4. When ready, on the action bar, click Migrate Data.
  5. Confirm that you want to migrate the selected modules. When asked if you want to cancel the migration, select No. This prevents accidental confirmation by double‑click.
  6. After the migration completes:
    • OPplus must remain active if migration to Continia Banking will follow.
    • Continia Finance is not yet activated until all required steps are finished.
  7. To confirm installation, open Continia Solution Management to see whether the Continia Finance app is installed. If you also plan to migrate to Continia Banking, keep OPplus active. Confirm that the modules previously used in OPplus are active in Finance. If no Continia Banking migration will follow, you can deactivate and uninstall OPplus.

Run the migration tool to migrate to Continia Banking

To start the migration tool:

  1. Search (Search) for and select Continia Banking Data Migration Setup.
  2. The wizard will guide you through the steps. First the system runs a pre-validation to for example check whether OPplus is still activated and whether it runs on the correct version. All validation results must be set to Success before you can continue. If an error exists, click the three dots (AssistEdit) to learn more. A possible error can be that you use placeholders in purpose codes that Banking no longer supports. If the wizard finds unsupported placeholders, an Error indicator appears. Select the error to view details and select Yes to continue. You must manually review and adjust the purpose codes after the migration.
  3. Click Next.
  4. On the Migration Data page, the Migration Data Selection section displays the data that will be migrated. This step is informational, and you cannot modify the selection.
  5. In the Bank Account Verification section, all existing account verifications from OPplus will be migrated, including their verification status and log/history. If you also want the migration tool to automatically verify any bank accounts that are not yet verified, enable Verify all vendor, customer, and employee accounts. When this option is selected, the migration tool will mark these newly verified accounts as Auto‑verified by Migration Tool.
  6. In the Continia Finance Checks section, specify whether the Continia Finance migration has already been completed. If you want to use Continia Finance and Continia Banking this step is important to ensure correct behavior after the Continia Banking migration.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Bank Account Availability step, the wizard provides an overview of your existing accounts and their status in Continia Banking.
    • If no bank accounts are listed, click Create Bank Request Selection to view an overview of available accounts.
    • If a bank is not supported, click Request Selected Bank to notify Continia about the missing bank format.
  9. Click Next.
  10. To continue, enable the I accept the terms and conditions toggle. Optionally, you can accept the verification of all bank accounts.
  11. Click Migrate Data and click Yes to confirm. After the migration completes, OPplus is automatically deactivated. Continia Finance (if used) and Continia Banking are automatically activated.
