Setting up Continia Banking Import
Continia Banking Import helps you bring bank account statements into Business Central, whether you use direct bank communication or upload the files yourself. After import, the system converts the bank’s file format and prepares the transactions for reconciliation.
This section describes how to configure the Continia Banking Import setup, import bank statements in different ways, avoid duplicates, work with CSV files, and troubleshoot data issues. Use these articles to make sure your import process is accurate and fits your reconciliation workflow.
In this section:
Configuring bank statement import settings
Learn how to set up the Banking Import Setup page. You can define how entries match automatically, set tolerances for payment proposal differences, and decide which data is required for successful reconciliation. See Configuring bank statement import settings.
Importing bank account statements
Get an overview of how Continia Banking imports transactions into either the Bank Acc. Reconciliation page or the Payment Reconciliation Journal. This article explains how the Banking Import Setup affects automatic matching and data validation. See Importing bank account statements.
Importing a bank statement manually
If direct communication is not available, you can download files from your bank and import them manually. This article describes how to import statements into the Bank Account Reconciliation or the Payment Reconciliation Journal. See Importing a bank statement manually.
Importing multiple bank statements
Learn how to import and group multiple CAMT.053 or CAMT.054 files into one reconciliation. You can organize transactions by day, week, month, or without a time limit. If transactions fall outside the selected period, the system can create a new reconciliation automatically. See Importing multiple bank statements.
Preventing bank statement reimport in reconciliation
Duplicate prevention depends on message IDs and other identifiers in the file. This article explains how Continia Banking detects duplicates and how to avoid reimporting the same transactions in both reconciliation journals. See Preventing bank statement reimport in reconciliation.
Enabling the reimport of bank statement files
In some cases, you may need to reimport a file, for example when conversion is incomplete or incorrect. This article explains how to enable overwriting existing transactions and the conditions under which the system allows a reimport. See Enabling the reimport of bank statement files.
CSV ports
If you receive transactions as CSV files, these articles explain how to use CSV ports. You can learn how to set parameters, map headers, and use fallback posting descriptions. The articles also describe how to use the CSV Port Setup wizard. See CSV ports.
Troubleshooting source files
If an issue occurs during import, the error may be caused by the original file. This article shows how to convert a file from the File Archive List into a JSON file so you can review the converted data, check field mappings, and identify data problems. See Troubleshooting source files.
