Ensuring AML compliance in Continia Banking
Continia Banking prioritizes security and compliance, helping you adhere to Norway's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) act. The system allows identity information to be attached to each payment, ensuring that every transaction can be traced back to the individual responsible for initiating it.
Important
Continia Banking masks Social Security Numbers (SSNs) in user interfaces while retaining their full values in the File Archive.
To set up an approval workflow set up for the payment journal
To comply with AML regulations, you must set up a payment approval workflow for your payment journal. Without this workflow, payments cannot be processed in compliance with AML requirements.
You can create Payment Approval workflows for Continia Banking-enabled payment journals. Workflows can require approval for either the entire journal batch or individual journal lines.
Use the Security Setup Assisted Setup to configure approval workflows. Once created, all payments must be sent for approval before being sent to the bank. Additionally, to comply with AML regulations, you must enter an identification number for approvers, such as a SSN or national ID.
Note
Some banks also require the Business Central GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) for each user. Continia Banking automatically includes this when needed.
To add approver identity information for approvers
Any user authorized to send payments must enter their SSN on the User Setup page.
To add the SSN to the User Setup page:
- Search (
) for and select User Setup. - Navigate to the user that you want to add the SSN for. In the Debtor Approver ID field enter the SSN. The number is masked for security and shared only with the bank.
To enable AML compliance on the Bank Card
If your bank supports AML compliance:
- Open the Bank Card page.
- On the General FastTab, in the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance section, enable Pre-approve Payments.
