Flagging an Emission Factor as Discontinued

Organizations may retire emission factors, especially when releasing new versions. To make sure that you only use accurate and up-to-date emission factors, Continia handles emission factors and flags any that are outdated for the databases Continia manages. If an emission factor in a Continia-managed set is discontinued, Continia will mark it accordingly.

To flag an emission category, item, or factor as discontinued in the sets that you have created or imported yourself:

  1. On the Emission Items (Emission Factor Set) page, find the item that you want to retire and select the checkbox in the Discontinued column.
  2. Go to the Valid Until Year column and enter the year when the item becomes obsolete. If left blank, the item will be considered discontinued for all years. Once flagged as discontinued, the item can't be used from that year onward.
