Reports in Continia Sustainability
Continia Sustainability enables the generation of reports that present your company's emissions in a similar way to financial reports, previously known as account schedules. These reports are crucial in making informed decisions to drive your company towards more sustainable operations.
The Environmental Report
Continia Sustainability comes with a default report that displays all emissions categorized by scope and category, following the GHG Protocol accounting organizational structure. The report includes the following details:
- Emissions within scope 1 for stationary and mobile combustion, industrial processes and fugitive emissions. Mobile combustion emissions are reported from both fuel and distance perspectives, while electric vehicle emissions within scope 2 follow a similar approach, based on electricity and distance.
- Within scope 2, emissions are reported under both market and location approaches for facilities and vehicles.
- Scope 3 mirrors the GHG Protocol structure, listing the 15 categories linked to upstream and downstream processes in your company's value chain.
- The report showcases the total emissions, encompassing both location and market-based emissions.

Emissions by Scope
Continia Sustainability provides a second report based on the format provided by Business Central Sustainability module. This report collects the same type of information with a more detailed approach to organizing emissions data by scope, improving data clarity.
Key features:
- Comprehensive scope and category organization - emissions are structured by scope 1, scope 2, all 15 categories of scope 3 and Out of Scope emissions.
- Detailed breakdown on account-level - under each of the scopes, Continia Sustainability provides the detailed list of all entries linked to the individual accounts from the Chart of Sustainability Account structure.
- CO₂ equivalents - Continia Sustainability reports emissions as CO₂ equivalents, covering all six Kyoto gases for a standardized approach to measuring environmental impact.
- Location and market-based emissions - Continia Sustainability calculates both location-based and market-based electricity emissions to provide more accurate and comprehensive reporting. The location-based approach reflects the average emissions intensity of the energy grid where electricity is consumed, while the market-based approach accounts for emissions from energy supplier choices, such as Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Tracking both methods gives companies a fuller picture of their environmental impact, enabling more informed decisions and enhanced sustainability strategies
- Flexible reporting formats - choose your preferred format for report delivery, including PDF, XML, Word, or Excel.

Enhancing Business Central Sustainability
While similar to Business Central's Sustainability reports in its scope-based structure, Continia Sustainability enhances reporting with greater detail, comprehensive CO₂e reporting (including all 6 Kyoto Protocol gases), and improved emissions classification for more precise sustainability tracking. If you are using Continia Sustainability features and Emission Factor Sets, relying on the standard Business Central's Sustainability module reports may lead to inconsistencies. Business Central’s reports do not provide a detailed breakdown of all Kyoto Protocol gases, nor do they include CO₂e results or distinguish between location- and market-based emissions.
To ensure accuracy and comprehensive reporting, we recommend using the Continia Environmental Reports and Emissions by Scope report for a more complete and reliable emissions analysis.

Business Central Sustainability has already integrated financial reports. As part of Continia’s solution, we ensure that CO₂e results are included alongside them, as well as market-based CO₂e emissions - features not supported by Business Central.
