The Environmental Account Card Fields

Continia Sustainability offers a feature that enables you to input information about emissions from various activities such as facilities, vehicles, and waste. You can add these activities as environmental accounts, each with unique fields that specify the type of emissions. This article describes the fields on the environmental account cards and how you can use them. For more information on how to add cards for a specific environmental account, refer to the Environmental Account overview article or find the card of your choice in the table of contents on the left.

For example, on the environmental account card of employees commuting, on the General FastTab, you can enter information for the following fields:

FieldDescription
No.Define the number linked to this employee commuting emission activity.
NameProvide a name describing the source of the emission. For example, Car travel for a vehicle card or Food & Beverage for a purchased goods and services card.
Account typeThis field lets you determine how to book costs and emissions related to this item. The options are:
  • Posting - transfers journal entries to ledger accounts.
  • Heading - categorizes similar accounts for reporting purposes.
  • Total - the sum of all costs related to purchased goods and services.
  • Beginning Total - the total balance of an account at the start of an accounting period.
  • End Total - the total balance of an account at the end of an accounting period.
Balance (kg CO2e)The system reports emissions linked to the environmental account card, including the total accumulated carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions balance, once users begin reporting on it through the journals.
BlockedIf enabled, it prevents the user from making further postings to this environmental account.
Last date modifiedDate of the last modification or update to the balance. Automatically generated.
Data source tableSpecify the table that contains the relevant data used as the primary source.
Data source table filterDefines any filters necessary to extract the data.
Emission factor setIndicates the Emission factors database that is used for calculations. For example, Defra.
Emission categoryCategory under which emissions are classified.
Emission item codeCode identifying a specific emission factor.
No. of emission factorsThe system will automatically display the number of emission factors related to the choice made earlier. Depending on the Emission Factor Set selected, the same emission factor may be provided in different units of measure. Additionally, it may combine multiple emission factors from upstream emissions, combustion emissions, and other sources.
