Managing electronic documents in Australia

As a customer in Australia, you can use Continia Document Capture to send and receive electronic documents via email (as attached files) or via the Peppol eDelivery Network.

To promote the general adoption of Peppol, the Commonwealth mandated electronic invoicing for all agencies starting on July 1, 2022 – and over 80% of invoices could already be received electronically by July 1, 2021. The A-NZ Peppol BIS 3.0 format was widely adopted by both businesses and public authorities in Australia.

Then, in December 2023, the PINT A-NZ Billing specification was introduced – becoming mandatory on November 15, 2024. This specification offers a more standardized and internationally aligned approach, compared to the localized A-NZ Peppol BIS 3.0.

Both the PINT A-NZ and A-NZ Peppol BIS 3.0 formats are supported by Document Capture, and can be sent via the Peppol eDelivery Network.

Note

Since May 15, 2025, the A-NZ Peppol BIS 3.0 extensions are no longer supported, and all electronic invoicing must use the PINT A-NZ specifications.

You can also receive and import electronic documents from vendors in other countries. Most widespread formats are supported. For more information, see Supported formats.
