Creating a sender profile
Vigtigt
The functionality described in this article requires the Enhanced Continia eDocuments feature – introduced in Continia Document Output 2026 R1 (v28) – to be enabled and is not applicable to older versions. This feature is enabled by default for new installations and replaces the old XML export framework with the more advanced, flexible, and future-proof eDocuments framework. As an existing Document Output user, you can enable it manually.
For more information, see New Document Output framework.
Sender profiles contain all the information that's necessary to send electronic documents in Continia Document Output. By defining the format, participation (if any), scheme ID, and/or identifier value to be used, sender profiles determine exactly how documents are to be sent for the output profiles that they're assigned to.
Tip
A participation is an organization's or legal entity's registration in the Continia Delivery Network that enables that organization or legal entity to send and receive documents using the Continia Delivery Network.
Implemented in version 28 (2026 R1), the sender profile feature directly and fully replaces the eDocument Setup Code functionality that's used in older versions of Document Output. Whereas the eDocument Setup Code was specific to Document Output, sender profiles are part of the Continia Delivery Network and therefore shared between Document Output and Continia Document Capture, thereby helping to consolidate the two solutions under one joined framework.
For earlier versions, the available formats were defined and controlled through codeunits. With the new framework, formats are loaded dynamically and are no longer limited or managed through custom code. This change allows Document Output to support a larger and more flexible set of formats for you to choose between when creating sender profiles.
Sender profiles can be assigned either directly to customer and vendor cards (in Document Capture) or in the output profile, but profiles assigned in the output profile take priority.
To create a sender profile
In order to create a sender profile in Document Output, follow these steps:
- Search (
) for and select Sender Profiles. - On the action bar, select New to add a new line to the list of sender profiles.
- Under Code, enter a free-text code to be used as an identifier for the sender profile.
- Under Electronic Format, select the format that you want to use when sending eDocuments.
- The Scheme ID and Identifier Value fields are filled automatically, but you can edit these if necessary.
- Under Send From Participation, select the three dots on the right to open the Continia Delivery Network Participations page, and then select the participation (previously set up in the Continia Delivery Network) that you want to use when sending eDocuments.
Bemærk
For certain formats, such as ZUGFeRD, no participation is necessary, so Send From Participation isn't mandatory to fill out if you know that you'll be sending documents using any such format.
You've now created a sender profile, which can then be assigned to an output profile. This is necessary in order for you to be able to send documents via Continia eDocuments.
