Continia eDocuments vendor flows
Vigtigt
The functionality described in this article requires the Enhanced Continia eDocuments feature – introduced in Continia Document Output 2026 R1 (v28) – to be enabled and is not applicable to older versions. This feature is enabled by default for new installations and replaces the old XML export framework with the more advanced, flexible, and future-proof eDocuments framework. As an existing Document Output user, you can enable it manually.
With the introduction of the new feature, the eBilling part of the eDocuments vendor flow has been moved to Document Output. This means that it's no longer possible to send sales invoices and sales credit notes from Continia Document Capture – only from Document Output.
For more information, see New Document Output framework.
This article describes the actions you must take as a vendor in the Continia eDocuments flows. The actions are parts of different flows, as outlined below.
For information on the corresponding customer flows, see eDocuments customer flows (this is a Continia Document Capture article, as customer flows are only supported by Document Capture).
Ordering
The ordering flow is supported by Document Capture and described in detail under Ordering (Document Capture article).

To send a sales invoice
To create and send a sales invoice:
- Create a sales invoice, for example by posting a sales order that you've received from a customer as part of an ordering flow.
- From the Posted Sales Invoice page, in the FactBox on the right, under Document Output > Recipient, check that it says E-Doc followed by the name of your sender profile in brackets.
- On the action bar, click Document Output and then one of the following, depending on what you want to do:
- Send/Print – sends the document according to the output profile settings (using any configured combination of Print, Create PDF/A, and Email (PDF and/or Xml (e-doc)))
- Send eDocument – sends only the eDocument through the network.
Bemærk
A dialog may appear, asking you if you want to send the document to a queue or send it directly. Choose an option, and then click Yes to continue.
- On the General FastTab, check the eDocument Status field:
- Sent – the sales invoice has been sent to the customer.
- In Progress – the sales invoice has been sent to the network, but there's no confirmation of receipt or failure.
- Failed – the sending of the sales invoice has failed due to a network issue.
- Not Valid – select this text to open either the eBilling Document page (if the invoice has no related eOrder) or the eDocument Overview page (if a related eOrder exists). If the eDocument Overview page opens, locate the eBilling document and select it to open the eBilling Document page, and then do as follows:
- On the action bar, click Validation Log to open the eValidation Log page, which lists a number of validation errors.
- Take note of the Detailed Error Message, close the log to return to the eBilling Document page, and then resolve the listed validation errors.
- When done, select Resend on the action bar to send the revised sales invoice to the customer.
The sales invoice is sent to the customer, who can process it as described in To receive an invoice and send an invoice response (Document Capture article).
To resend an eBilling document
In certain cases, it may be useful to resend an eBilling document that has already been successfully sent – for example, if a recipient requires a copy of the document. To resend an eBilling document:
Bemærk
This action is only available in electronic document formats with the Copy Indicator field, such as the Danish OIOUBL format.
- Search (
) for and select Outgoing Network Documents. - Select the document you'd like to resend. Note that only documents with the eDocument Status 'Successful' can be resent.
- On the action bar, click Actions > Resend. Alternatively, click eDocument Card and, on the eOrder Response page, click Resend on the action bar.
An additional eDocument record is created in the Continia Delivery Network (CDN), and the copy is automatically sent.
Tip
To check if a sent eDocument is a copy, go to the Outgoing Network Documents page and look up its value under the Copy column.
